The Transfer Rundown: Kane move over, Inter's eyes on Mendy, Messi to City hope

It's been a week of transfer news but let's break it down.

Harry Kane to Manchester City, OFF?

As reported by Samuel Luckhurst, Tottenham Hotspur are set to deny any proposed move for Harry Kane this summer.

Harry Kane is a Spurs player until 2024 and would need the cooperation of Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy which is a known adversary to any Harry Kane move away from the club.

Spurs were waiting to fully decide if they should permit a move for Kane but now (as reported by Samuel Luckhurst), they wont.

Lionel Messi to Manchester City, back on?

Yes it may seem wild but it's not far fetched. Barcelona need to reduce their wage bill by a staggering €200 million after exceeding the La Liga salary limit. Several players will need to be sold. It makes clear why Man City have also been linked to many of their unwanted players such as Ousmane Dembélé, Sergi Roberto and more. Even Antoine Griezmann has caught the eye of Manchester City and Barcelona don't seen to be putting up much of a resistance as per, a Daily Star report.

Worse still, without lowering the wage bill, they cannot register any new signings such as, Sergio Agüero, Eric García, Memphis Depay and any other potential signings. Barcelona will have to make a tough decision, keep Lionel Messi and sacrifice half of the squad or let go of Messi into the hands of either Manchester City or PSG and rebuild properly. Man City would be at inevitable advantage to sign Messi due to the connections with the Barca President, Joan Laporta and Pep Guardiola, Txiki Begiristain and more City seniors.

Barcelona are in deep financial trouble and it's no doubt that Man City could be looking to capitalise on this uncertainty, but Pep Guardiola could be the only problem as he has said many times he wants Messi to stay at Barcelona.

“He is a player from Barcelona and he will stay there, that’s my wish for him to stay in Barcelona. I’m not going to talk about players for other clubs. I think he will finish his career there, that’s my wish.”

Though, while Pep has his wishes the Manchester City Chiefs could see this as an opportunity to not sign the best player in football history but also expand the City Football Group franchise and Manchester City brand.

Benjamin Mendy to Inter Milan

Benjamin Mendy is reportedly wanted by Inter Milan as they seek to defend their Serie A trophy.

MEN report Man City are open to do a deal with the Inter Milan. It is widely known that in any deal City are unlikely to recoup the money it cost them to bring Mendy to the Etihad.

Inter are not worried about Benjamin Mendy's injury woes.

Manchester City are one of the clubs who will be offered Antoine Griezmann. Barcelona are looking to offload Griezmann after their economical crisis, says the Daily Star.

Barcelona are needing to offload players to register newly signed players: Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia and Memphis Depay.
