Pre-match Report: Blackpool

It's the third-and-final pre-season friendly for Manchester City as they face Blackpool at the Academy Stadium on Tuesday.

The game will be once again played behind closed doors as a precaution following the Covid-19 outbreak at the CFA.

City have already played two friendlies, beating Preston North End and Barnsley convincingly, and have now confirmed their final pre-season game against Blackpool as a final warm-up before they face off against Leicester at Wembley this weekend in the season's curtain-raiser.

After a number of first team players have already returned to the CFA in the previous weeks and subsequently made an appearance or two in the friendlies, more players have arrived back in Manchester as they step up preparations for City's title defence beginning at Spurs on August 15.

These include the likes of Zack Steffan, Bernardo Silva, Rodri and Kevin De Bruyne, who was in the stands to watch his teammates and some of the academy stars hit Barnsley for four on Saturday.

City fans will have an eye on the game Tuesday and another will be on the transfer news surrounding Jack Grealish and Harry Kane.

The game is once again live on City+ and kicks off at 18:00 PM.
