Phil Foden is to receive a new six-year deal which will see him earning £150,000-per-week. This is a reward for Foden's tremendous season which led Man City to win the Premier League and Carabao Cup. According to the Daily Star in an exclusive report, on Deadline Day Manchester City rejected Atletico Madrid's proposal/offer of a Saul Niguez and Bernardo Silva swap deal. This offer was swiftly shut down, with Pep Guardiola believed to be at the heart of the shut down. Saul later signed for Chelsea on loan.
Manchester City rejected the offer as they wanted £40 million outright for Bernardo, but most importantly, Pep Guardiola had 'no interest' in Saul Niguez being a part of his three-time Premier League winning side.

In other news, our Carabao Cup and FA Cup no.1, Zack Steffen is expected to sign a contract extension after a superb season as a Claudio Bravo replacement. Pep Guardiola is a 'big fan' of Steffen and is in talks over an improved four-year deal in the Daily Star's evening exclusive.
Steffen has proved to be a key player for this Manchester City side and has earned his place as our go-to-man in cup competitions and is not afraid to step in for league games if and when needed.
