Kevin De Bruyne Bows Out Of The Euros
In a stunning 90 minutes of football we witnessed former Manchester City Boss Roberto Mancini triumph against Kevin De Bruyne’s Belgium.
Kevin De Bruyne played a full 90 minutes for the Belgian Red Devils which saw him once again show his incredible skill. De Bruyne provided Belgium with two incredible chances and one chance of his own. Though, Romelu Lukaku was unable to provide De Bruyne with his well deserved assists and Belgium with game changing goals.
After conceding two goals 13 minutes between each other in the first half, Doku provided Belgium with a lifeline after he got Belgium a penalty, which Lukaku scored with ease - making the score going into half-time 2-1 to Italy.
The second-half was quieter for Kevin as Belgium struggled to effectively create chances after a very dominant Italy disabled the Belgium attack. In the last 10 minutes, Belgium found their footing and started to insert some dominance, though it proved to be too little too late as the match ended 2-1 to Italy.
Kevin De Bruyne after the game ended revealed to the media that he had played the full 90 minutes with a torn ankle ligament to try and aid his county. "I played the five days after Portugal with a torn ankle ligament. It was a miracle that I was ready for the match. I tried to help the team, but it just wasn't enough,” De Bruyne said as reported by Belgian reporter, Sven Claes. Kevin also didn’t waste time in thanking medical staff for their incredible work in getting him ready for the game.
Kevin De Bruyne will be a missed player after scoring and assisting twice in the Euros but as some of us are happy to know, it was done by Mancini’s Italy.
