City’s John Stones Goes Under The Radar Once Again!

With all the buzz surrounding England and their euro 2020 journey so far, the effort and form of some of the squad members has gone unnoticed.

Players such as Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips and Arsenals Bukayo Saka are some

of the many players that have received minimal praise at the tournament despite tremendous form. One name in particular no one seems to be mentioning is Manchester City’s own John Stones.

Stones has played in every single one of England’s games so far in the tournament, switching centre-back partners along the way. During this time John Stones has picked up an amazing achievement and now holds the record for most consecutive tournament clean-sheets by a centre-back in England history. Surpassing Bobby Moore’s record set in 1966 when England last won a trophy.

John Stones is still yet to concede at Euro 2020 and seems he still doesn’t get enough credit for the season he’s having. After his game against the Ukraine John Stones now has his 27th clean sheet of the season. If John Stones keeps just 1 more clean-sheet in the Euros then he becomes the defender with the most consecutive clean-sheets (6) in the history of Euros.
