Aymeric is set to return to Manchester City training for pre-season after a fantastic individual Euro 2020 tournament.

Laporte is expected to return on August the 4th alongside his Spanish teammates (Rodri and Ferran Torres), as per The Athletic journalist, Sam Lee. While this doesn't necessarily signal he will stay, after of no news of an exit from the Etihad for a month it is proving that no news is in fact good news.

Barcelona were the biggest link to Aymeric Laporte but due to their financial crisis have quelled any interest they have in the player. Manchester City are also said to not be interested in accepting any deal for any player with makeweights included as all Barcelona's unofficial offers are said to include players such as Sergi Roberto, Ousmane Dembélé and others.

Aymeric Laporte took to Twitter to dismiss any ideas of not being happy at Manchester City. The original report from Mundo Deportivo Manchester correspondent, Dani Gil said:

"It is a complicated scenario. He wants to feel important but it seems that at City he will always have someone ahead of him." - Dani Gil, MD.

Aymeric Laporte replied:

"Dani, nobody has talked to you and nobody will talk to you." - Aymeric Laporte

Aymeric's contract ends on June 30th 2025 and he could play a key role for City in the coming season. Laporte has always been world-class and showed his brilliance once again the EUROs. The new season offers a clean slate for our no.1 Spaniard.
