Alex Robertson's Loan to Ross County is a Huge Opportunity for him

Young attacking midfielder Alexander Robertson has been in the Manchester City academy for more than three years now, since his switch from Manchester Unite. Since then, the youngster, who could yet represent England, Scotland, Australia OR Peru, has developed massively, now faced with a big challenge for the 2021/22 season, a loan spell in the Scottish Premiership with Ross County!

The creative 18-year-old, who was born in Dundee, Scotland, will play his first games in senior top level football this season with Ross County, looking to solidify their post in the top flight this season!

Although Ross County are not part of the City Football Group, City have still had lots of success with loan spells for youth players to other teams! One that springs instantly to mind is the deal done in January of last season which saw talented centre half Taylor Harwood Bellis head to Blackburn Rovers for half a season, where he quickly became a fan favourite at Ewood Park due to his appealing style of play.

Robertson has already made two appearances in the group stage of the Scottish League Cup, with his debut coming as a substitute against Brora Rangers as he came on for the final 25 minutes to help Ross County see out a 1-0 away win! His performance was clearly satisfactory, as three days later he started in the next game in the League Cup against Montrose, where his side won at a canter, 4-1, although Robertson only played 45 minutes.

This is a big opportunity for the youngster, who has already previously trained with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City first team, as a good season in the Scottish top flight could well open up a door for another opportunity to impress Pep and attempt to enter the fray, or, alternatively, another year at Ross County to play some first-team football and continue to develop and improve against some very good opposition, and learn from the experience at the club!
